Teignmouth's roots stretch back to the Georgian and Victorian eras, evident in the beautiful Georgian crescent adorning the seafront and the Victorian-era pier. The headland marks the entrance to the River Teign and the harbour area. Across the river is the quaint village of Shaldon, accessible via a road bridge, offering a village green, winding streets, and excellent pubs.
