Exploring Salcombe

The quaint town of Salcombe, nestled amidst steep hillsides, offers a unique charm. A passenger ferry provides access to the sandy beaches on the river's far side at East Portlemouth. The resort lies on the west bank of the Kingsbridge estuary, a haven for wildlife and sailing enthusiasts. This area is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and also a nature reserve.

Beaches and Beyond

Stroll south through Salcombe to discover two picturesque beaches at North Sands and South Sands. North Sands offers a car park, though it can get busy in the summer, and a restaurant/shop called The Winking Prawn. South Sands, a sandy and large beach, is popular in summer and offers a beachside cafe and the opportunity to hire a sailing boat or kayak from South Sands Sailing School.
